A HUGE Thank You to all our speakers

Friday, February 12 at 09:36PM

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all of the great people who spoke at #UnTech10, both in-person at the Renaissance Hotel on Thursday and via webinar on Friday.

For the in-person speakers, thank you for braving #snowmaggeddon to get to the hotel, and especially thank you for letting Lindy and me mess with your presentations, throw you in at the deep end, mash you up with other speakers, make you condense your 75+ minutes of content into 30 minutes or less, make you make lots of stuff up on the fly, and do all of this after ten pm the night before the day of. You have no idea how much we appreciate your willingness to go with the flow on this and I HOPE you agree that, at least until we hear otherwise, it all worked out incredibly well from the audience (live and virtual) point of view.

I'd like to extend an extra thank you and hug to Amadie Hart, Reggie Swanigan, Andy Steggles, Sterling Raphael and TJ Muehleman - you guys had, I am sure, really fantastic social media-related presentations prepared for the Tech Conference, and we knew it was, in one sense, a shame to lump all of you together into the soc-med mosh pit to duke it out amongst yourselves - but we knew you would make a great conversation out of it, and we knew that the whole experience of the Unconference was going to show off better than any single presentation what social media can do. Thank you so much for rolling with it and doing such a great job!

To all the webinar speakers on Friday, a HUGE thank you also for extending the learning online and enabling a whole second day of awesome content to happen. I hope you will let us know how each of your webinars went and any feedback you may have heard about unTech10 overall or these formats. I know for a fact that many people who were actually not able to come to Tech did attend virtually all or portions of both days, and that is a truly amazing thing. Thank you for that. Awesome!!

And, of course, this being an unconference, the active and vocal participation of the audience both live and virtual was such a huge part of it. Thank you to everyone for being game!

Our association community rocks. Unbelievable. Huge, huge round of applause to everyone for being part of this great two days!!

Maddie -- it was an honor to be part of such an amazing and organic event. The work that you and Lindy and the organizers did to pull this off blows my mind. Thank YOU for everything.

Maddie,

I personally am thirlled that the snow caused the amount of online action. Sorry to all of you who had to deal with it but without it I never would have been "at" the conference. Virtual conferences are the best - not only no travel but the ability to be in way more conversations and thus, learn more than if I'd been able to attend.

I'd love to see more conferences like this. As Educ people we travel more than most and this is a great change.

Happy to help in any way (speaking, organizing, anything) to do this in the future,
